Sample setup · made-up business
An example for a fictional 3-person lawn care company. Names and numbers are illustrative, not client results.
Jobs were tracked in a notebook and text messages, and invoicing happened at the end of the week.
One Google Sheet in the owner's account with job statuses (quoted, scheduled, done, billed, paid) and an outstanding-balance view.
Current jobs entered, a 30-minute walkthrough for the owner and crew lead, and a one-page reference guide.
The crew lead updates jobs from a phone. Each Monday, the owner bills completed work and follows up on anything past 30 days.
Trackers and crew guides for Gulf Coast crews, shops, kitchens and offices.
Starting rates shown. Every project gets a fixed written price before work begins.
Founding clients: the first 3 clients pay the starting price and get one month of upkeep free.

I'm Marcus Johnson. I grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and I build every StoneRiver system myself.
Before writing software, I worked on field crews and in logistics. I've seen jobs tracked on scrap paper and in text threads, and money left on the table because nobody had time to chase it.
I build simple tools for that problem. They live in your own Google or Microsoft account, your crew can learn them in an afternoon, and you get a fixed price before I start. When you call, I'm the one who answers.
Keep QuickBooks for your books. The tracker covers what happens before a bill goes out: quotes waiting on an answer, scheduled jobs, and finished work that hasn't been billed. If you want the two connected, that's quoted separately.
No. Everything is built in Google Sheets or Excel, in an account you already have or can make for free.
Never. You share access to the file or account, and you can remove it at any time.
Each setup includes a round of changes after you've used it. You see the fixed price and what's included before any work begins.
It's yours. Your team runs it day to day. If you want changes as your business grows, monthly upkeep covers them, or I'll quote them one at a time.
No. Most setups are done by email, phone and screen share. You can send a photo of your notebook to get started.
